This is hilarious!

Recognizable stage and screen star Anna Kendrick opened up about her role in the hotly anticipated stage-to-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s celebrated family-friendly fairy tale-themed musical INTO THE WOODS as part of a new interview.

The witty and winsome star shared a story about her initial reaction to being cast in the project by director Rob Marshall as well as commented on the character she plays in the film, Cinderella.

Asked if she ever anticipated that she would actually get the coveted role, Kendrick replied, “Never in a million years!”

Kendrick continues, “That’s the first thing – when Rob Marshall offered me the job, that’s the first thing I did.”

Kendrick clarified, “I e-mailed him and said, ‘I’m gonna wear a g*ddamn ballgown, are you kidding me?!”

In another recent interview, Kendrick also concluded of the Disney tentpole movie musical, “What I am doing right now with INTO THE WOODS is so magical – every day is so magical.”

“Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick isn’t one of those troubled Hollywood actresses who shows up to work in a state of intoxication, so when her producers slipped her real beer while shooting a scene for her new film, “Drinking Buddies,” she says she accidentally got drunk — and didn’t like it.

“During a scene at the bar, they gave me fake beer, but then during a scene where I’m playing cards…they gave me real beer and I didn’t realize it! And so every time I lost, I was pounding beer…I didn’t realize it was real until halfway through the take. I was like, ‘I’m super drunk right now!’ And so as soon as the take was over, I had to announce to everybody that I was drunk at work,” Kendrick explained to Vulture yesterday, calling the experience “very, very bizarre.”

Kendrick recently told “GQ” that she is a beer drinker, noting that she enjoys “every single Belgian-style beer,” but that doesn’t mean she was expecting to end up drunk on the set.

“I’m sure you’ve never been drunk in the middle of your job, but it is uncomfortable,” she explained.

Kendrick says, though, it all worked out in the end — “Drinking Buddies” was filmed without a script, which Kendrick said was a challenge.

“It worked in the scene, and so it was helpful for them,” Kendrick noted, “but I mostly found it really unnerving.”
