Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick is set to put her singing voice to use for another comedy, this time an animated one. Remember those troll dolls with the colorful spiky hair? Well, DreamWorks Animation does. The studio’s musical comedy Trolls will send the popular toy creatures on a wild and hilarious adventure.
Kendrick will star as Poppy, the peppy princess who sets out on a quest to discover the origin of the trolls’ gravity-defying hair.
The film will be directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After), who believes Kendrick will, “…inject Poppy with the exact mix of spirit, sass and song that will no doubt give a whole new life to the iconic troll dolls.”
The dolls were invented in 1959 by Thomas Dam, who could not afford to buy his daughter a Christmas present. Instead, the Danish fisherman carved her a figurine of a mythical Scandinavian troll. The troll doll became a huge hit in the 1960′s and then again in the 90′s.
One can only assume the trolls will once again rise in popularity when the film hits theaters – do Transformers or Smurfs ring any bells? - on November 4, 2016.
Anna Kendrick, award-winning actress, singer, and recent Saturday Night Live host, tells us how she gives back and who she loves following on Twitter.
Anna Kendrick talks giving back with Burt’s Bees’ Hive with Heart campaign.
Anna Kendrick has earned a significant fan base from her roles in the musical film Pitch Perfect, the cult-favorite Twilight series, Up in the Air opposite George Clooney, and most recently as the host of this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live. The Academy Award-nominated actress’ over two million Twitter followers may be familiar with her funny antics, but they may not know that the star also loves to give back.
Last month, Kendrick helped kick off Burt’s Bees’ Hive with Heart campaign. With each qualifying Burt’s Bees purchase through June 30, the brand will donate two lip products to Lipstick Angels, a nonprofit that empowers hospitalized women by treating them to beauty sessions. We sat down with Kendrick to talk philanthropy, upcoming movies, and who she finds funny on Twitter.
What do you love about Burt’s Bees?
ANNA KENDRICK: One of my favorite products that I honestly never leave home without is the tinted lip balm. The sweet violet is my favorite. I love that [Burt’s Bees] is all-natural and I love that it’s accessible—you can get it anywhere. They’re just a really responsible company.
What made you want to get involved in the Hive with Heart Campaign?
AK: This is just such a sweet idea. Just thinking [about it] makes me smile. It’s so simple but it’s so powerful. These women who volunteer their time to bring beauty treatments to women who are hospitalized—it’s just such a beautiful thing.

As promised we have a brand new gallery layout, I did indeed make another one as I didn’t like the other I had made. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
Head over to the gallery to see it live.
So the plan was to code the gallery layout I had made for the site, but then as I was downloading photos I found this gorgeous shoot of Anna and made this amazing layout. I am so proud of it I think its possibly my best work to date. problem is the gallery layout I made looks awful in comparison. So I think I’ll be making another layout for the gallery and putting it up.
I hope you all love this layout as much as I do! if you have any issues with it, or errors please let me know by commenting on this post.
Adoring has a brand new domain! I was able to acquire a much better domain for the site, so from now on annakendrick.net is our main domain. A-Kendrick.com will be redirecting to here so everyone will be aware of this change. I will renew our old domain for one year and then after that I will let it expire.
On a side note, I am very sorry for the lack of updates, or well no updates. I have had alot of changes occur in my personal life and that on top of uni had me taking a very long hiatus. I am now back and am hoping to have the site heading on the track to being up-to-date in the next coming weeks. I also have a new layout designed for the gallery and will be working on getting that up.
Marjane Satrapi, the filmmaker behind “Persepolis,” makes her English-language debut with the horror-comedy.
Lionsgate has acquired U.S. rights to The Voices, the Sundance horror-comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick.
The movie is directed by Marjane Satrapi, the Iranian-born filmmaker who is perhaps best known for the animated movie Persepolis, who is making her English-language debut.
Voices, written by Michael R. Perry, centers on a genial but disturbed factory worker named Jerry (Reynolds) who has a crush on a co-worker (Arterton). Without giving too much away, things go south and get even worse, as Jerry begins taking counsel from his foul-mouthed and murderous cat as well as his good-natured dog. The movie mixes murder, fantasy and talking animals (and talking heads) as well as several tones.
It was produced by Matthew Rhodes, Adi Shankar, Roy Lee and Spencer Silna. The companies involved include 1984 Private Defense Contractors and is a Mandalay Vision, Studio Babelsberg and Vertigo Entertainment production.
CAA and UTA Independent Film Group, along with Loeb and Loeb, repped the filmmakers.
